1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sinhala OCR platform, services, applications, and websites (collectively, the "Service"), a product owned and operated by Invos Global (Pvt) Ltd ("Sinhala OCR", "we", "our", "us".

By accessing, uploading content to, or using the Service, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Sinhala OCR provides an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) service that enables users to upload documents containing Sinhala text, including PDF and image files, and receive machine-readable Unicode text output.

The Service performs automated text extraction only and does not interpret, verify, or validate the meaning, accuracy, or legal significance of extracted content.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using Sinhala OCR, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

4. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree that:

  • You have the legal right and authority to upload, process, and extract text from any documents submitted to the Service.
  • Uploaded content does not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights, including intellectual property, confidentiality, or privacy rights.
  • You will not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • You will not attempt to misuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with the operation or security of the Service.

Sinhala OCR reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

5. Ownership and Intellectual Property

5.1 User Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents and content you upload to the Service.

By uploading content, you grant Sinhala OCR a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and use such content solely for:

  • Providing the OCR Service
  • Improving and training Sinhala OCR’s internal OCR and language models

This license does not permit Sinhala OCR to sell, distribute, or use uploaded content for unrelated commercial purposes.

5.2 Platform and Technology

All rights, title, and interest in the Sinhala OCR platform, software, models, algorithms, trademarks, and related intellectual property remain the exclusive property of Invos Global (Pvt) Ltd.

No rights are granted to users except as expressly stated in these Terms.

6. Data Handling and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how uploaded documents and data are collected, used, stored, and protected.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

7. Service Availability and Limitations

  • The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • Sinhala OCR does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or fully accurate OCR output.
  • OCR accuracy may vary based on document quality, formatting, handwriting, image resolution, or language complexity.

Sinhala OCR may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

8. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Sinhala OCR makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the Service for any specific purpose.
  • Extracted text should not be relied upon as a sole source for legal, financial, medical, or official decisions.
  • Users are responsible for verifying OCR output before use.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sinhala OCR shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to:

  • Use or inability to use the Service
  • Loss, alteration, or corruption of uploaded content
  • Reliance on OCR output

In all cases, Sinhala OCR’s total liability shall be limited to the amount, if any, paid by the user for the Service during the applicable period.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sinhala OCR, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your uploaded content
  • Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws

11. Termination

Sinhala OCR may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at its sole discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

13. Changes to These Terms

Sinhala OCR reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
